Teruyuki Fujita, Ph.D., is a professor at the Institute of Human Sciences at the University of Tsukuba. He teaches career guidance and counseling at the College of Education and comparative policy studies on career development for youth at the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences.
He began his professional career in 1993 as an assistant professor at a private university. In 1998, he returned to the University of Tsukuba as an associate professor, a position he held for 10 years. In 2008, he was appointed principal researcher on career guidance at the National Institute for Educational Policy Research of Japan (NIER), while also serving as senior specialist for student guidance at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
He has held his current position since 2013. He currently serves as president of the Japanese Society for the Study of Career Education (JSSCE).
